Your total Warmth is derived from three sources:

Every piece of armor (head, chest, hands, feet) has a hidden numeric Warmth value (0–~50+ per piece). Your total Warmth determines the at which your exposure increases when in cold regions (The Pale, Winterhold, Eastmarch, and especially at night or in blizzards). skyrim survival mode armor warmth ratings
